Database Solutions
Expert Software Systems
can develop and provide extensive
Database Solutions,
that are incorporated as part of your Web Site, or custom client/server
solutions on your own network that are based on Access, Foxpro, or Visual
Basic/SQL Server technologies.
Microsoft's SQL Server© 2000 database server engine and associated toolset are used as the basis for all
Web database solutions, and extensive use of the CGI (Common Gateway Interface) or ASP (Active Server Pages)
Web server protocol is used to permit Web Site forms to interact with the
databases. All databases that are developed, are optimized for
both storage requirements and access speed. The following is a list of
Database
functions that can be developed and incorporated into your Web Site:
-
User Forms that store data into database -
Custom entry forms can be incorporated into your Web Site, to allow users
to enter and store information into one or more databases. These entry
forms can include free-format text fields, text/numeric/date fields that
have defined boundary checking, radio button fields, drop-down list
box fields that contain lists of valid values to choose from, action
buttons, etc. Information entered into these forms can be committed to
a database, if all established validation passes. Extensive error
checking/handling can be incorporated into these forms.
-
Administrator-only database forms -
Database forms that are only accessible by an administrator of your
site, can be generated. These forms can be hidden from public domain
and/or protected by a username/password scheme. These forms can be used
to retrieve user-entered data, validate user-entered data, or add
value to user-entered data.
- Secure Database Transactions -
Our server runs under a secure environment (both SSL and S-HTTP security-
compliant). This means that pages on your Web Site can be made totally
secure and encrypted over the Internet. As such, any database
transaction that contains a Social Security number or Credit Card number
can be transmitted from your Web Site over the Internet, and can be
guaranteed to be totally secure (Note that this feature will be made
available in 4/97).
-
Database forms which trigger Email -
User-form actions (e.g., submitting information to a database), can
automatically result in Email being sent to
a defined Internet Email account.
-
Query forms that retrieve data from database -
Forms can be developed for your Web Site, that allow users to query
or solicit information that is resident in one or more databases.
-
Graphical images stored in database -
Graphical images can be stored in your Web Database. Facilities can be
developed that permit these images to be downloaded into a database, or
retrieved via query, from a database, for viewing.
